I work under the name ROD. I was born in Quimper, France (1977), and I trained in Fine Arts in Rennes before spending the early 2000s in Paris working as a set designer for TV, advertising, and film.

 

​I began my studio practice as a mixed-media artist in 2004, and I stepped away from set design in 2008 to fully commit to my own language.​

 

Today, my focus is Fragmentation—my signature: I print images on plexi, cut them into thousands of elements, and recompose them into sculptural wall works that behave like architecture, often intensified by resin, paint, and organic materials.​

 

Super-hero imagery marked the beginning of my artistic career, but Fragmentation is now the core of what I develop and exhibit internationally, in galleries and fairs across France, Belgium, Italy, Hong Kong, and the United States.
